>>>>>>>>> Tiger´s Milk Records Instore Session <<<<<<<<< LIVE @ OYE Records with their new compilation "Peru Bravo: Funk, Soul & Psych from Peru’s Radical Decade" >>>>>>>>> Duncan Ballantyne & Martin Morales <<<<<<<<< Tiger’s Milk Records stems from a passion to discover and celebrate the breadth of music made in Peru from punk to funk, chicha to cumbia and folk to electronica, past and present. The label is part of Ceviche, a company led by Peruvian Martin Morales and is dedicated to Peruvian food, music and creativity. It includes two restaurants in London, an award-winning cookbook translated into 8 languages, food and drinks products and events. All have a 100% Peruvian focus. Tiger’s Milk was founded by Martin Morales who’s CV includes being a founder member of Apple’s I-Tunes Europe as Head of Pan EU, running Disney’s music and talent business in Europe and launching Miley Cyrus, Jonas Brothers and High School Musical among others. He cut his teeth working at EMI and smaller indies like Union Square Music and Outcaste Records where he also worked with artists such as KT Tunstall, Joss Stone, Rodrigo & Gabriela, Matthew Herbert and Novalima. Martin co-runs the label with Duncan Ballantyne who previously label managed Soundway and Far Out Records and was integral to the career development of Fat Freddy’s Drop working with them for many years as part of Kartel. In 2013 the pair took their first furtive steps towards launching a London-based record label 100% dedicated to discovering and releasing Peruvian music. Their debut 7” went down a dream with collectors and music fans alike, featuring two cuts by alternative Latin, funk and chicha groups Juaneco and Paco Zambrano. They soon released a compilation album ‘Peru Maravilloso’ to international acclaim highlighting collectable tropical music from the Peruvian archives from the ‘60s & ‘70s. Since their first music release Tiger’s Milk have appeared on numerous international radio shows with more Peruvian music plays on the BBC than at any other time and Martin has guested on BBC TV’s Saturday Morning Kitchen three times in 18 months. The music, record label, food, restaurants and cookbook have all received praise from their respective critics and tastemakers and with such encouraging response, Tiger’s Milk can’t wait to pursue further projects spreading the Peruvian gospel across the world. The next compilation album entitled Peru Bravo: Funk, Soul & Psych from Peru’s Radical Decade is scheduled for release on October 4th and there will be food and music events and launches in London and Berlin.
