Diesen Sommer wird die schwimmende Recycling-Insel „Open-Island Berlin“ gebaut! Als Kunstwerk, Symbol und Plattform für eine kollaborative Gemeinschaft in Zeiten des Wandels. Mach mit beim dezentralen Inselbau der beteiligten Projektpartner oder besuche die entstehende Maker-Plattform vor Ort oder online. Open-Island wird vom 27.6. (beim „48 Std. Neukölln“ Kunstfestival) bis zum 11.7. (zur „Kunst am Spreeknie“, Schöneweide) entstehen. Wenn wir eine andere Welt wollen, müssen wir lernen, sie zu leben. Die Konzepte und Tools dafür gibt es schon. Nun kommt die Zeit, unsere Visionen und Projekte zu vergleichen, sie professionell zu vernetzen und mit anderen zu teilen. Die erste Open-Island wurde in Indien als schwimmende Multifunktions-Plattform aus globalisierten Abfallmaterialien gebaut, um einen Open-Source Bauplan für Selbstbau-Rettungsinseln zu entwickeln. Neben diesem humanitären Nutzen ist auch eine interdisziplinäre „Makers for Humanity“ Gemeinschaft entstanden, die wir diesen Sommer in Berlin vorstellen wollen.

Open-Island Berlin will start on 27.6. at the „48h-Neukölln“ Art festival to be completed by 11.7. for the „Kunst am Spreeknie“ Festival. (we now even negotiate for a permanent float-location and will let you know asap.)
If we want another world, we must start learning and living it. The concepts and tools for a caring, sharing community already exist, it´s time now to connect, discuss and share our visions and assets to co-create a positive future! Initially, Open-Island was developed in India as a floating multipurpose platform, made of globalized trash. Open-source, low-tech and bottom-up to provide DIY-rescue islands for climate change resilience. (The demand rises with the sea-levels.) Beyond this humanitarian purpose, it has developed into an interdisciplinary community of „Makers for Humanity“, which we will showcase with Open-Island Berlin. Welcome aboard :-)
