A S S – Jochen Arbeit, Günter Schickert, Schneider TM (Germany) LIVE | Bureau B/Indigo
Coals (Poland) LIVE | AdP Records
Decks: TUUM (Berlin) | Portals Editions
Günter Schickert, Jochen Arbeit and Dirk Dresselhaus are three renowned Berlin guitarists. They epitomize three generations of experimental musicians: Schickert personifies the Krautrock of the 1970s, Arbeit 1980s post-punk and Dresselhaus the neo-electronica of the late 1990s/2000s period. Their artist approaches may differ on account of their diverse musical backgrounds, yet what they do have in common is a fundamental interest in developing the guitar as a sound object, seeking out unusual structures and harmonies. They now present the results of their explorations and ideas on a joint album.
Coals is young duo from Poland under the leadership of Katarzyna Kowalczyk and Łukasz Rozmysłowski. The name of the band is connected to the region they come from – Silesia which is famous for coal mines. They started playing music in September 2014. They quickly made a name for themselves with a bunch of home-recorded songs they published on the internet.
Since early 2015 the Kiezsalon has offered a forum for innovative musical activity beyond genre boundaries. As an interface between avantgarde, advanced pop music and interdisciplinary art the series presents compact performances by artists from diverse genres, origin and status. Initiated by Digital in Berlin and based at one of the last authentic locations in Berlin, the 120 year old Schneider Brewery. Following three exciting years, the Kiezsalon has established itself as a popular and successful series, so far hosting 64 artists from 25 different countries, with an equal balance of female and male artists: www.kiezsalon.de
There is limited capacity to the salon. Tickets only available at the door. The Kiezsalon is funded by Senatsverwaltung für Kultur und Europa.

Christina Vantzou work as a composer and orchestral arranger is characterized by lush layers of classical instruments, synths, vocal samples and somnambulant melodies. As a visual artist, Vantzou works in high-speed to create slow moving visual accompaniment to her music. As a producer, John Bence is already thinking ten steps ahead, often incorporating voice or home recorded percussion into his cyclical technique of scoring, recording, manipulating, re-scoring and re-recording in waves, creating heady, intoxicating ripples of harmony and noise.

TOMAGA
Tomaga is two musicians on a quest to deconstruct their normal sonic palette and create a new and unfamiliar sound world. Having played as musicians for years in bands such as The Oscillation, Shit N Shine, Neon Neon, Raime, Voice Of Seven Thunders, Luke Roberts and countless others, Tomaga channels multi-instrumentalism into music that is by turns reminiscent of industrial, jazz, psychedelia and minimalism.
GRISCHA LICHTENBERGER
Grischa Lichtenberger is an electronic music producer, visual and installation artist living in berlin. Grown up in a withdrawn farmhouse, his artistic approach developed from surveying the landscape as reference for the condition of art production itself. Landscape, in this sense, is understood not only as the picturesque or sublime recreational facility of nature, but as an interaction between the traces of biographical history and the material concreteness of the present surroundings.
SCHNEIDER TM
Schneider TM is a multidimensional music project from Dirk Dresselhaus. Since the late 80’s he is active in different musical fields. From 1989 until 1997 he played and sang in indie-noiserock- and pop-bands like Locust Fudge or Hip Young Things before he became more active in electronic music around 1997 with his project Schneider TM, which is responsible for a couple of experimental electro-freak-pop albums and indie-hits like Reality Check, Frogtoise, Pacman / Shopping Cart or a coverversion of a song by The Smiths called The Light 3000, a collaboration with Kptmichigan that was hugely acclaimed by John Peel, The Wire etc.
PLANTS AND EMPIRE
Plants and Empire works with sound produced by plants, received by plants, transformed and generated by plants. The language that one associates with plants is often heavily personalised, plants are sad, they are happy, they are forlorn, they yearn for life. We talk to them, play music to them in order to stimulate them.

Sculpture is an opto-musical agglomerate made up of Dan Hayhurst (music), and Reuben Sutherland (animation). Their first test hit upon a psychedelic palette, the sensorial intricacies of which they continue to explore. Performance is central to their work, and feeds back into all aspects of the process. Sculpture’s output includes music, film and video work, and multi-sensory live shows.
After Clark (Warp Records) had passed some of Gajek’s sheer endless output over to Modeselektor, quite a few listening sessions followed. Ranging from post-rocky electronica to complex and moody renderings of intricate introverted beat structures to a mutant dance music, a whole audioscape had to be discovered. There are songs and tracks and experiments there, morphed vocals and reverberated non human instruments, complex percussion patterns and sweet athmospheres.
