We have a stellar line up for you this Saturday night when Mint returns to //: about blank.
First up we have London’s homegrown DJ, producer and label boss Hannah Holland. Hannah’s sound fuses many styles into hybrid of house, techno and bass. She’s captured hearts all over the world, and is equally at home in big rooms as she is in grimy basements and warehouse raves, weaving together her breathtaking array of musical offerings.
We discovered a divine mix by Chica Paula and couldn’t wait to invite her to spin her bold fusion of fairytale-like ambient with house, techno and electropop for you at Mint. The Chilean born DJ and producer moved to Berlin in the early 90s and learnt her trade playing at locations like Ostgut-Panoramabar (now Berghain) and Tresor.
Next on the bill is Lady Blacktronika. Described recently by Resident Advisor as “The First Lady of deep house”, she first tried her hand at house and techno production in 2006 when she was discovered by Mike Huckaby. Since then, she has amassed an extensive discography with a sound that is heavily influenced by the classic elements of old school Chicago & Detroit House music.
To complete our selection this Saturday we have long time friend of Mint, Handmade and Mint resident Ena Lind. Handmade’s selections oscillate between house and techno, a mix of superior and timeless tracks with deep and dubby-grounded nuances á la Detroit, jacking stabs of Chicago and occasional deviations into tougher or soulful soundscapes. Ena Lind needs no introduction, her closing set after our Mint open air last month was legendary! She returns to Mint this weekend with her latest picks of house and techno to take us on a signature musical journey.
