We are happy and proud to host the record release party for KAMIKAZE SPACE PROGRAMME’s second release on Mote Evolver! KSP is a man of new ideas. He has had a long career as a Drum and Bass-producer but recently decided he’d rather get out of the tight grid of one style and have fun with grown-ups instead of 19-year-old boys. His music is intense, abstract, raw and intelligent, but driving and functional at the same time. No wonder Luke Slater picked up on him quickly and releases his second EP now. The track titles on Kamikaze Space Programme’s latest offering for Mote-Evolver are taken from the chilling techno-criticism and dystopian visions of the late J.G. Ballard’s fiction, a thinker whose work has always lent itself well to music on the razor’s edge of modernity. Keep in mind, though, that this is no simple tribute to that mastermind of speculative fiction, but a translation of his highwire suspense and hyper-modern aesthetics into rhythmic and incisive electronic music. Secondly there is ARAD, who is one half of Lakker, and has recently developed a career on his own with releases on Speedy J’s label Electric Deluxe. Otherworldly electro – rarely these words are more suitable than for his music, which comes along as classical electro but still doesn’t deliver what you would expect. strange!
Local support comes from Killekill’s DJ FLUSH and the CHEAP ACID DJs.
