10. June 2016 – Panel & Mint Klubnacht at Prince Charles
Mint and Reveller present a panel discussion curated by Sky Deep (label owner and musician / Reveller Records) and Marit Östberg (filmmaker and visual artist): ”The Artist Role in Today’s Society – Why It’s Impossible Not to Be Political”.
How to feed your stomach, your soul and help shape society too? Four acknowledged artists from different backgrounds share their experiences of how to survive within mainstream dominance without completely confirming. How do they maintain artistic integrity? How can an artist act politically in an increasingly difficult reality? How does gender, sexuality, race, class, etc. dictate the necessity and possibility to act?
Sky Deep joins panelists, Olof Dreijer (The Knife), Perera Elsewhere (FoF music) and RUI (BCR, Reveller Records). Shanti Suki Osman, a musician and curator (Late Nights In Squat Bars), radio maker (CoLaboRadio) and educator, will moderate. The panel will be recorded and published through Groove Magazine afterwards.
We would love for you to join us at Prince Charles for this special event, and stay with us for the Mint Klubnacht with La Fleur (Watergate, Power Plant), Denise Swan (Klangkost) and Mint Resident Ena Lind.
