On August 7th 2020 Berlin-based label Ode To Youth will drop a staggering Mathew Jonson remix of Liam Mour’sdebut single Douro. As the second artist to date to release on the recently founded label, Mathew flips the original 14/16 groove with its organic sound sphere into an instantly classic 4-to-the-floor banger by adding his unique transcendent synth lines to the jaunty rhythm of the percussions. In this intuitive pairing the Canadian hardware fanatic Mathew Jonson creates yet another undeniably beautiful composition.
“Having the opportunity to work with live instrumentation is quite rare for me these days. It was quite challenging to get the parts into a dance floor format,“ he said about the remix. “Still, for me I prefer the original. It‘s a beautiful piece of music.“The original track came out in March and was premiered by Mary Anne Hobbs on BBC 6music and marked the release debut of Funkhaus resident Liam Mour on Ode To Youth, followed by his eponymous EP.
