Recorded last year in the legendary Hansa Studios in Berlin, Satin Jackets‘ ‚Think About‘ It was, in the German producer’s own words, “proper disco”, a sun kissed combination of guitars, pianos, strings and a sumptuous vocal that, at the very least, had us dancing around our living rooms last summer. Now with the sun returning to the Northern hemisphere the track gets a deserved re-release complete with two stunning remixes courtesy of rising Scandi-disco star Cavego and Berlin DJ & producer Jack Tennis.
First up is Norway’s Cavego, who gets straight down to business kicking things off with a cavernous 4/4 beat, pulling the track’s remarkably funky bass line right to the front of the mix and then wisely letting the vocals take centre-stage. As the track swells and develops and the guitars and synths pile in Cavego still gives each element a sense of space, the result a deep, rich disco track that’s sure to sound incredible pumping through a club’s sound-system.
Previously only available on DJ Supermarkt’s The Sunset Manifesto, Berlin DJ and producer Jack Tennis’ 80’s Dub Mix unsurprisingly harks back to that golden age of big slouchy socks, bigger shoulder pads and even bigger hair. Pitched somewhere between electro-soul and early house, Jack’s mix smoothly brings together those classic 80s electronic percussion sounds with soulful synths, that massive vocal and as the track progresses an unexpected but never unwelcome bit of 303 action, an instant club classic.
