Nadia Khan’s sublime Port Ana EP dropped towards the end of 2020 on the Scissor & Thread imprint. It’s deep, emotional sound palette resonated with the state of the world at the time, and signalled Nadia as an artist exploring new and deeply affecting sonic territories.
This collection of remixes brings some of those tracks into new realms, conducted by CCL and label boss Francis Harris.
CCL bring a new rhythmic take to the tracks Rain Again and Conversation – both are augmented and embellished with deep, tripped-out beats perfectly complementing the liquid soundscapes and melodic flourishes of the originals.
Francis Harris’ take on Conversation goes even deeper, dispensing with almost all drums or percussion until near the end of its 9 minute run-time – instead focussing on the interplay of pads and an ebbing and flowing bass line.
