Scottish rising star Hannah Laing returns to WUGD with ‘Climax’ – the first in a series of dancefloor singles planned for 2022.
A slowly building slice of dancefloor deliciousness – tension and release are the key to ‘Climax’, unravelling with waves of gently euphoric keys and grounding vocal samples.
Hannah says: “Before I’d ever touched decks I’d bought a record called ‘Welcome to Tomorrow’ by Miss Peppermint. I didn’t even have a record player but I loved it so much that I wanted it on vinyl to keep. Years later when I came to producing myself, it was the perfect record to sample and I ripped the audio straight from that vinyl. The breakdown hits me right in the feels and you can tell everyone feels the same way when it’s played in the club. That’s where the name climax comes from; it’s an intense emotional breakdown but when that drop hits – CLIMAX!”
This summer will see Hannah behind the decks across the UK, with guest appearances planned for TRICK at DC10 and some key European summer festivals. Launching her very own podcast and club night ‘Hannah’s Choice’ in 2019 she had a run of sellout events across Scotland. Her coveted edits and bootlegs sparked global acclaim, especially her take on Sophie Ellis-Bextor’s ‘Murder On The Dancefloor’, all while making her mark with original releases on WUGD, Spinning and TRICK.
