How do you handle music requests?
It is rarely asked fortunately but most of the time I say that I don’t have the track or I tell that I’ll put it later and I don’t. But if it’s a good request and it fits the mood why not.
What do you do when equipment goes on strike?
It’s kind of a nightmare for every live player artist. I do the best I can continue nonetheless, even better sometimes it can be a source of inspiration like the time Thomas Bangalter made a non-intentional noise with a Jack plug and looped it to improvise a song on stage (not sure if it’s a legend or a real story but I love it).
What are your musical influences from childhood?
I really started binge listening music with progressive and pop Rock bands at around 10. The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, The Doors, all the big classics. I was also really into Reggae and then a bit later Soul, Jazz and Electronic music. I was lucky to have an older brother with really good and eclectic music taste, thanks to him I discovered quite early a lot of different kinds of music!
Is it even possible to argue about musical tastes?
It is if you are not open minded I guess.

I worked a bit as an assistant sound engineer for radio commercials and most of my job was to bring water and coffee to the comedians. Not so bad but very boring!

I studied and worked as a sound engineer before doing music. I think I would work as a sound mixer for films or maybe doing sound design for video games!

What is the most important musical equipment invention of all time – and why?
For me I think it would be the computer and the music production software because thanks to this kind of equipment I have been able to make and share my music. It gives everybody a chance to compose and do the music they have in their head, even without proper music theory knowledge. Nowadays every computer is powerful enough to run a DAW and the possibilities are limitless !
What would you advise to become a professional?
Never stop trying and believe in yourself. I think that if you’re doing music that comes from your heart it will touch others.
