Berlin Atonal returns to Kraftwerk Berlin this September for its first full edition in over four years. In advance of the next programme announcement in July, we’re teasing out the first names of our monumental 6-night concert offering.

As always, the festival will feature a slew of exclusive commissioned works and premieres, now spread over two three-day weekend blocks. Among the musical highlights that can already be released are the first ever live show from legendary techno outfit Sandwell District, the world’s first glimpse of a new collaboration between Caterina Barbieri and Space Afrika, and the premiere of a monumental new show from mercurial rapper Blackhaine.

The first weekend block also features site-specific interventions from renowned Austrian performance artist Florentina Holzinger, the debut of Laurel Halo’s new live show entitled Atlas, a monumental audio-visual show created by Aho Ssan with visualist Sevi Iko Dømochevsky and a new live project that brings together sonic visionary Shackleton, avant-folk virtuoso Waclaw Zimpel and one of Indian Carnatic music’s greatest emerging young vocal talents Siddhartha Belmannu.

The second weekend block sees festival favourite Alesssandro Cortini return to premiere his new A/V show, the world debut of Blawan and Pariah’s punk/metal band Persher, a new collaboration between Pavel Milyakov and Perila and the world premiere live version of DESASTRES, the acclaimed work that renowned artist Marco Fusinato presented for the Australian pavilion at the most recent Venice Biennale.
