“Waking from a dream” emerged during a period when I was going through some challenges with my mental health, and I found myself disassociating quite often. I was sleeping a lot, and, truthfully, my dreams started to feel more comforting than reality. At the same time, I was navigating a difficult relationship where I struggled with feeling unseen and unloved. I felt a sense of loneliness and wasn’t sure how to process the emotions I was experiencing, holding on to the hope of what could have been. Creating this song wasn’t something I planned; it came to me naturally, almost as a way to express what I couldn’t put into words. Sometimes, I feel emotions so deeply, yet I struggle to articulate them, and this song became a way for me to translate those feelings into music.
