TEHRAN CONTEMPORARY SOUNDS 2024
Experience the Fusion of Tradition and Innovation

Film Screenings at Kino Central
October 29th – 30th
Performances at Kunstquartier Bethanien Studio 1
November 1st – 3rd

The Tehran Contemporary Sounds Festival returns to Berlin from October 29th to November 3rd, offering a five-day celebration of Iranian avant-garde cinema and music.

This year, the festival expands with two days of screenings at Kino Central followed by three days of performances at Bethanien, creating a vibrant hub for cross-border artistic collaboration.

Screenings (October 29-30):
Cinema Synesthesia, a collaborative initiative formed by the Experimental Film Society (EFS), the EFS Film School, and TCS showcases a diverse array of short films that delve into the essence of cinema itself. „A Play for Public“ by Vida Kashani and Amir Komelizadeh is a standout piece, exploring the socio-political dynamics of urban life through a poetic lens. Another highlight, „Accursed Effigy“ by Amirmahdi Kalantari, presents a haunting vision of nature’s rebirth amidst human collapse. These films offer deeply personal narratives that transcend conventional cinematic boundaries, inviting viewers into unique worlds shaped by the filmmakers‘ experiences.
