Earlier this year, Love to be… celebrated its 30th anniversary in Sheffield, marking three decades of shaping the UK house music scene. Starting in 1994 at Sheffield’s legendary Music Factory, Love to be… quickly became a cornerstone of northern nightlife, renowned for its electric house music events featuring both iconic and emerging talent. Over the years, the brand helped establish the careers of legendary artists like Masters at Work, Frankie Knuckles, and Roger Sanchez, while continuing to push boundaries with fresh talent
This year Love to be… has hosted a number of sold-out parties across the UK and globally, culminating their own Love to be… Festival at The Stray, Harrogate in September.
As the largest dance music event ever held in Harrogate, the festival not only celebrated the past three decades of house music but also emphasised community impact. Partnering with The Ostrich Foundation, a local charity focused on youth mental health, the festival raised awareness and support for suicide prevention.
Championed as the ‚North’s original super club‘ and winner of numerous awards, Love to be… set the standard for house music events in the UK. With cutting edge club decor, stilt walkers, flamboyant dancers and hosts, coupled with the finest resident DJs supporting world class guests, Love to be… built a huge following and remains a hugely influential force to this day.
„Launching the festival was a huge leap of faith. It was a significant risk for us, both financially and logistically, but we felt it was the right way to celebrate such a milestone. The response has been overwhelming, far exceeding our expectations.
“Seeing thousands of people come together to celebrate house music, just like in the 90s but with a modern twist, was truly special. We couldn’t have asked for a better way to mark three decades of Love to be….“
