Das M.I.K.Z. liegt auch auf dem Gelände des ehemaligen Reichsbahnausbesserungswerks “Franz Stenzer”, besser als “RAW-Gelände” bekannt. Man muss ziemlich weit nach hinten durch… noch weiter und noch weiter… dann ist man endlich da. Seit 2014 ist jetzt auch der geheime Garten am Start, in dem so ziemlich jeden Sonntag auch Open Airs stattfinden.
M.I.K.Z. steht übrigens für “Multifunktionales Internationales Kulturzentrum”. Damit verortet es sich positiv in der Tradition des besetzten RAW-Geländes und des 1999 gegründeten Vereins RAW-Tempel e.V., hat aber nichts damit zu tun.

The M.I.K.Z. is located on the ground of the former train repair area“ Franz Stenzer “ in Berlin better known as „RAW Gelände“. Here in the Revaler Straße 99 near the S-Bahn station Warschauer Straße , close to the district border of Kreuzberg in Berlin’s Friedrichshain the M.I.K.Z. an abbreviation for “ Multifunctional International Communication Center“, a variety of cultural offerings in increasingly distanced to the commercial mainstream for an open-minded audience.
Unknown artist from Berlin, Germany and around the world can get the opportunity to present their work to an interested audience. Music, visual arts, readings, theater performances, yoga classes and workshops appeal to a wide, alternative crowd. The proximity to other socio-cultural initiatives dedicated and clubs from the district is from Mikz emphasized.
The club is now a place that receives alive the specific flair of Berlin after the wall came down. The time when artists, activists and party makers conquered many empty factory halls, there to prepare a creative combination of art, life and party. Thus dominate the long club nights in Mikz Sorts of electronic music for which Berlin is well known: techno, minimal and house.
