Das Lido hält den Spirit des alten Indie Kreuzbergs am Leben
Lido steht für die italienische Bezeichnung für einen Kur- oder Badestrand. In Berlin steht es für eine der bekannstesten Locations im Breich Rock, gegenüber der alten Curvry Brache, die ja jetzt Zalando Territorium ist. Im Verbund mit Astra und Bi Nuu (Achtung unsägliches Werbesprech) das Rock Herz der Hauptstadt.
Ok, aber nun mal ernsthaft: Das Lido ist Kreuzbergs Rock Wohnzimmercouch, steht mitten im Wrangelkiez, Ecke Cuvry- und Schlesische Straße und ist einer der besten Indie/Rock/Death Metal/Grind/Experimental/Pop Konzert Clubs in Berlin. Der Club pflegt auch durchaus sein undergroundaffines Image, was sich auch in den moderaten Preisen für Tickets nieder schlägt.
Zur Historie der Lido Location
In den 1950er und -60er Jahren war das Lido eins der Kinos schlechthin. In den 70ern wurde es dann das „Westside“ und machte auch schon ordentlich Mucke in Richtung Rock’n’Roll. In den 80ern wars dann einfach dicht und nix passierte bis zum Mai 2006. Neben Partyveranstaltungen, wie Rock AG oder Balkanbeats, treten regelmäßig Bands auf. So waren zum Beispiel schon Maximo Park, Cocorosie, Sportfreunde Stiller und die Beatsteaks im Club. Es gibt außerdem eine nette Outdoor Area die sogar im Winter begehbar ist. Das Lido bietet im großen Saal Platz für bis 600 Personen. Häufig für artys genutzt, wird ein großes Areal im hinteren Club.

The Lido keeps the spirit of the old Indie Kreuzberg alive
Lido is the Italian name for a spa or bathing beach. In Berlin it stands for one of the most famous locations in the Rock sector, opposite the old Curvry Brache, which is now Zalando territory. Together with Astra and Bi Nuuu (sic!) the Rock heart of the capital.
Ok, but seriously: The Lido is Kreuzberg’s Rock living room couch, located in the middle of the Wrangelkiez, corner of Cuvry- and Schlesische Straße and is one of the best Indie/Rock/Death Metal/Grind/Experimental/Pop concert clubs in Berlin. The club also maintains its undergroundaffines image, which is reflected in the moderate prices for tickets.
History of the Lido location
In the 1950s and 1960s, the Lido was one of the cinemas par excellence. In the 70’s it became the „Westside“ and already made a lot of music in the direction of rock‘ n‘ roll. In the 80’s it was simply dense and nothing happened until May 2006, except for party events like Rock AG or Balkanbeats, there are regular bands. Maximo Park, Cocorosie, sport enthusiasts, for example, were stillers and the beat steaks in the club. There is also a nice outdoor area that is accessible even in winter. The Lido offers space for up to 600 people in the large hall. Often used for artys, a large area in the rear club will be used.
